677,874. Seed-sowers. LANDAUER, A. Nov. 27, 1950, No. 28957/50. Class 6(i) A seed-drill has a plurality of furrowopeners 8 each comprising a pair of triangular blades 9, 10 abutting along one edge 12 and arranged at an obtuse angle to one another to form a hollow roof-like sowing-boot into which the seed tube 4 discharges. A wedge-shaped stiffening member 13 underlies the ridge 12 and slides along the furrow bottom to deflect obstructions. Each composite boot formed by the members 8 and 4 may be integral with a bracket 25 adjustably connected, through the pin and slot 28, to a drawbar 26 connected to the sowing machine chassis 27. Pressing-rollers (not shown) may be attached to a hook 31 on each boot.
