Abstract

677,242. Discharge apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. March 3, 1949 [March 6, 1948], No. 5835/49. Class 39 (i). [Also in Group XI] A member, e.g. a cap 6, is cemented on a wall, which must not be deformed, e.g. part of the glass envelope 1 of a valve, by coating it with a mixture 9 of a low-melting point glaze and a higher-melting point powder e.g. powdered glass, and heating so that only the glaze melts, the powder forming a roughened surface on which the cement 8 is applied. The base of a lamp or valve can be applied similarly. A suitable composition of the glaze and glass mixture is given.
