675,974. Grills for gas cookers. CANNON IRON FOUNDRIES, Ltd., and OATLEY, A. F. Sept. 4, 1950 [June 29, 1949], No. 17164/49. Class 126 A gas-heated grill is pivotally mounted above a hinged food support which is linked to the grill and controls its movement so that when the food support is moved from a horizontal position of use to a vertical stowed position the grill is also moved from a horizontal position to a vertical stowed position where it is covered by the food support. The frets 14 are secured to brackets integral with the burner 16, which turns about a trunnion 17 through which the gas is supplied. A trunnion 19 enters a bearing bracket 20 secured to the back of the housing 12 mounted above a cooker splash back 11. The burner 16 is offset from the axis of pivots 17, 19. The grill 14 and burner 16 can be swung about pivots 17, 19 from a vertical position within the housing to a horizontal position of use, Fig. 2. A pan support 23, hinged below the grill 14, can be turned to vertical position so that it closes the housing, Fig. 1. A slotted stay 26 supports the tray 23 in the horizontal position, and an arm 28 offset from the hinge axis of tray 23 and a link 29 pivoted to the arm 28 and a lug 30 on the burner rotates the burner and grill when the pan support 2 is moved. In another embodiment, Figs. 5 and 6, not shown, the grill fret is attached to a rectangular frame which rotates about the burner. The housing is open at the bottom and an extension beyond the hinges of the pan support rests behind the splash back and provides a support for the pan within the housing.
