Abstract

674,760. Writing tablets. SPARKS, E. Sept. 7, 1950 [Sept. 7, 1949], No. 23171/49. Class 146 (ii). A writing tablet or pad comprises a plate 1 of metal or other suitable material furnished with a covering or layer 2 of adhesive material such as wax and a frame 3 of metal or other suitable material provided with a semi-transparent sheet 5 and a superimposed transparent sheet 4, the plate 1 and frame 3 being secured together in permanent association so that when the sides of the pad are pressed towards each other, one or other bulges outwardly to separate the semi-transparent sheet 5 from the wax layer 2 so as to obliterate any writing thereon. As shown, the side edges 6 of the frame 3 are turned over in recesses 1x at the sides of the plate 1 so as to allow sliding movement between the two to the position shown in Fig. 3. Alternatively the plate 1 may have side edges turned over the frame 3.
