674,094. Mixing valves. AMOUR, A. Dec. 13, 1949 [Dec. 13, 1948], No. 31906/49. Class 135. A mixing valve for liquids, e.g. hot and cold water, comprises a body 2, Fig. 1, with inlets 3, 4 leading via ports 5, 6 to an outlet 7, and a cylindrical closure member 8 having ports 9, 10 co-operating with body ports 5, 6 respectively, and movable axially to vary the proportions of the mixture and rotatable to control the volume of flow. Axial movements are effected by pivoting a lever 11 which carries a quadrant 11a engaging a rack 13 mounted on the member 8, and rotary movements, by sliding the lever along its pivot which is formed by a curved, circularsectioned rod 15, Fig. 3. More than two inlets may be provided, and the lever may be fixed to the closure member and movable in a slot in the body.
