673,974. Tag fasteners. PARSONS, F. C. June 13, 1950 [June 21, 1949], No. 16463/49. Class 73. A sheet metal tag for attachment to the skin of the breast of poultry without damage thereto comprises a dished body portion 1 having an aperture 7 at one end. A tongue 10 free to bend about the body portion at 15 has two parts joined by a crease line 11 and at an angle to the body portion. When the tag is compressed to straighten the parts of the tongue, the point 14 enters the aperture 7 forcing the skin therethrough and the parts pass the dead centre at 11 and become locked. Ridges 12, 13 may strengthen the tag longitudinally. Instead of the aperture 7 a recess may be stamped in the body 1. A crease may also be formed at the bend 15.
