A bottle 2 containing liquid 3 contains a ball 1 of slightly greater diameter than the cross-section of the neck 4 near its outlet 4 so that on inversion of the bottle the ball falls into the neck to close the outlet, the ball being made of an elastic material such as rubber with a metal core, so that it may be inserted through the neck aperture.
