Abstract

672,827. Spectacle frames. WERNER, F. C. H. Feb. 20, 1950 [Oct. 13, 1949], No. 4293/50. Class 97 (i). In rimless spectacles each of a pair of lenses is provided with two corners on or above its central datum line and at the junctions of the upper portion of the lens edge with the nasal and temple portions, the edge adjacent the corners on each lens being engaged by members on a lens bar extending along the upper edge of the lens and connected at one end to a temple and at the other to a central bridge. As shown, each lens bar 4 has clips 5 bent over the edge portions 2, 3 of the lens L adjacent the corners 1. The clips may be sprung into position or bent over the lens edge when the latter is in position. The corners 1, as shown are formed at the junction of a curved with a straight portion of the edge but may be at the junction of two straight portions or of two curved portions of different radii.
