Abstract

672,540. Metal - working presses. DE BERGUE MACHINE TOOLS, Ltd. Feb. 6, 1951 [Feb. 8, 1950], No. 3213/50. Class 83 (iv). In a punching &c. machine an oscillating lever C reciprocates a ram B actuating through a pivoted gag D and a lifting-pin H a punch slide A. The pin H is locked in the withdrawn position by a spring bolt P and is released on a working stroke by an adjustable stop V to reengage the pin H in a slot L in the ram B. The slide is pivoted to a two-armed lever E carrying a mass G adjustable to the positions shown. When the mass is in the dotted position the slide is underbalanced and reciprocates idly until the gag is engaged. When the mass G is in the full line position the slide is fully balanced and remains stationary in its upper position.
