Abstract
671,620. Grease guns. UNI-GUN LUBRICATING EQUIPMENT, Ltd., and OSMOND, R. B. Nov. 29, 1950 [June 13, 1950], No. 14784/50. [Classes 102 (i) and 102 (ii)] In a grease gun, the grease container 10 is fitted with a piston 16 that slides on a tube 12 that is screwed into a socket 13 in the body of the gun. The pump piston 46 is actuated on the discharge stroke by a piston 45 and on the suction stroke by a spring 50. A manuallyoperated valve 21 controls the supply of compressed air to the distributing valve 38 for the piston 45 and also through the non-return valve 20 and tube 12 to load the piston 16. To prevent the grease being still subjected to pressure when the container 10 is removed, the ports 26 are provided that are uncovered by the end of the tube 12 when the container is being unscrewed to permit escape of air to the atmosphere. A. release valve 55 also permits escape of air under pressure when it is desired to fill the container with grease through the inlet 53.
