Abstract

668,732. Magnetic tests and measurements. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Sept. 22, 1949 [Oct. 29, 1948], No. 28147/48. Class 37. [Also in Group XXXV] A magnetic fluid for application to the surface of a magnetized body to test it for faults contains particles of aluminium or other lightcoloured metal or alloy of low density to cause cracks &c. to be shown as white lines. The particle mixture may be obtained by grinding or milling the substances together. The liquid medium may be paraffin, methylated spirits or white spirits. Specifications 419,110 and 463,119 are referred to.
