[Also in Groups VIII and XI] An electrically-heated roller 20 for seaming thermoplastic sheets (see Group XI) has journals 23 carrying in porcelain bushes 26 metal pins 27 with projecting hemi-spherical heads, so that when the roller is mounted in holes 19 in metal limbs 10, 11 of a fork-like handle, current is supplied through inwardly-tensioned metal strips 12 having hemi-spherical contacts 13 bearing on the pins 27. The strips 12 are mounted by insulated screws 15 on mica strips 14 also insulating supply wires 16 from the metal limbs 10. 11. The leads 28 of the heater are connected to the pins, which are separated by a central insulator 29.
