Abstract

666,731. Condensers. BOSCH GES., R. April 10, 1949 [Nov. 30, 1948], No. 10295/49. Class 37. A condenser has two bands or ribbons of polystyrol or cellulose triacetate or similar lowloss synthetic material varnished and then metallized on both sides by vapour deposition. Thin cadmium layers are vaporized on the ribbons and weak places are burnt out before winding, the condenser being compressed or made solid by heat-treatment after winding. A layer 2 of acetobutyrate varnish is provided between the ribbon and the metal. The ribbons 1, la are offset and the metal layer 3 is thickened at its protruding end 3<SP>1</SP>. The opposite metal layer 4 is thinner than the layer 3, does not extend to the protruding edge and may have intervals, i.e. be formed as small strips. Connecting bridges 5 are sprayed on to the protruding ends. Specifications 453,939, [Group XXXV], and 499,795 are referred to.
