Abstract

An electrically conductive flux comprises 54 per cent iron powder; 6 per cent ferro-manganese (80 per cent Mn), ferro-silicon (45 per cent Si), or ferro-titanium (25 per cent Ti); 13 per cent calcium carbonate; 13 per cent calcium fluoride and 14 per cent bentonite. An electrically non-conductive flux comprises 14 per cent ferro-manganese (80 per cent Mn), ferro-silicon (45 per cent Si), or ferro-titanium (25 per cent Ti); 31 per cent calcium carbonate; 31 per cent calcium fluoride and 24 per cent bentonite.
