Abstract
660,546. Superheterodyne circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Nov. 29, 1949 [Dec. 2, 1948], No. 30591. Class 40 (v). In a frequency-changing circuit more particularly intended for short waves, the signal and local oscillations are both applied to the input circuit of a mixing valve 6 over a band-pass filter 4, 5 which is also coupled to the output circuit of the valve 6 by means of a reaction coil 7 so as to generate the local oscillations. The filter 4, 5 is over-coupled so that its frequency characteristic exhibits two peaks, one corresponding to the signal frequency and the other determining the oscillation frequency. Mixed inductive and capacitative coupling may be used between the two tuned circuits in order to keep the peak separation constant as the arrangement is tuned over a band.
