659,563. Cabinets etc.; furniture joints. JACOBSEN, I. Nov. 8, 1949, No. 28635. [Classes 52 (i) and 52 (ii)] Furniture joints which can be used in the construction of cabinets &c. so that additional parts may be added to expand the cabinet &c. comprise a strip 3 of wood or metal having apertures therein adapted to take screws which enter apertures formed in the face of a panel and into the edge so that panels 1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP> at right angles are secured together as shown in Fig. 3. When it is desired to expand, say, a cabinet having walls 11, 2<SP>1</SP> by the addition of panels 14, 18, the strip 3 is replaced by a longer strip 13 having an additional screw hole for the attachment of panel 14 and a strip 3 is also secured to the opposite face of panel 11 for the attachment of an end panel 18 as shown in Fig. 4. The apertures in the panels are provided with screwed bushes such as 8.
