[Class 94(i)] A machine for wrapping coils of wire, straight rods or other annular or elongated articles with paper or other material in band form includes two arms extending one on each side of the article being wrapped to guide and steady it, the arms being pivoted to the machine frame and having interengaging toothed segments, and a member displaceable by a handoperated screw to draw the arms together against the action of a spring. The article supported and moved by a feed roller a is guided by and between rolls e on two pivoted arms d. Interengaging toothed sectors i on the arms d are engaged by a lug m on a slidable member k moved by a screw o to bring the arms d together against the action of a tension spring j. The machine includes a further feed roller a and associated guide device.
