[Class 38 (iv)] A regulating system for aircraft, or other variable-speed, generators A1, A2 operating in parallel and in association with a battery K, comprises carbon pile regulators B1, B2 for the individual generators and a common master regulator G of the same type which exerts control simultaneously on the operating coils L1, L2 of the several individual regulators and which, in addition to the usual operating winding P, responsive to the common bus-bar voltage, has a winding Q in series with the battery and so acting on the pile as to maintain constant the battery charging current by control of the bus-bar volts. To maintain a prescribed load division between the machines the regulators B1, B2 have further windings M1, M2 energized by the voltage difference, which is normally zero, between the voltage drops across resistance F1, F2, carrying the currents of the individual machines.
