Abstract

655,217. Helicopter rotors. UNITED AIRCRAFT CORPORATION. Aug. 26, 1948, No. 22504. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1947. [Class 4] A rotor assembly, intended more particularly for use as a torque-counteracting tail rotor, comprises two diametrically opposed blades 34 mounted for pitch-changing movements on stub arms 38 of a hub 32, the latter being mounted on a hollow driving shaft 16 by pivots 30 whose axis F-F is obliquely inclined to the pitch-changing axis P-P of the blades 34. Pitch change is effected by a manually reciprocable control rod 60, coaxial with the driving shaft 16, and connected to control horns 58 on the blade roots by a transverse member 62 and links 66.
