[Class 108(i)] A door for closing the open sides or rear end of a delivery van or similar vehicle comprises vertical slats or sections hingedly connected along their adjacent vertical edges, wherein each individual slat is built up from an inner flanged channel section strip and a substantially flat outer strip having marginal portions foldable over the flanges of the inner strip to define a hollow box section and wherein the upper and lower ends of the slats or sections are movable along guides fixed to or mounted adjacent the roof and floor of the vehicle body, and extend within at least part of the adjoining body walls. Each door comprises a number of vertical metal slats each formed into a closed box section by flanging the lateral edges of a substantially flate plate 1b over the corresponding edges of a hat-section member 1a the plates being separated by wooden spacers 4. Adjacent slats are pivotally connected at their upper and lower edges by hinges 5 and each intermediate lower hinge pin is extended downwardly and each upper one is extended upwardly to provide a fork mounting 11 for a grooved roller 12 adapted to run on the section rails 13, each roller being urged into contact therewith by springs 9. The terminal hinge pins are similarly extended to support rollers 14 adapted to run in channel section guide rails 15 which are extended forwardly along the body interior walls. Instead of mounting the rollers 14 upon the hinge pins 7 they may be mounted on brackets at the centre of the top and bottom edges of each slat.
