Abstract
652,990. Conveyers. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd., and HOLLOWAY, W. T. Dec. 30, 1948, No. 33540. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group VI] Apparatus for removing loaves from baking tins comprises a series of platforms each having magnetic means for holding a tin thereon, means for moving the platforms along a circular path in which the tins are inverted, means for jolting the inverted tins to release the loaves and means for subsequently releasing the empty tins from the platforms. The platforms may form the faces of a polygonal drum. Each platform 2 is slidably mounted on pins 17 carried by brackets 16 on the end plates 10 of the drum and is urged inwards by springs 6. An arm 19 depends from each platform and carries a roller 20 which rides on a stationary cam member 5 cut away or corrugated at 21. When the rollers reach this point, the springs 6 force the platforms inwardly against longitudinal members 7 connecting the end plates 10 and the shock loosens the loaf which falls on to the conveyer 8. The electromagnets 4 which hold the tins on the platforms are deenergized near the roller-way 23 so that the tins fall off and are directed on to the conveyer 9. Delivery of a tin 1 at the correct instant from the roller-way 27 is controlled by a latch 28 at one end of a pivoted lever 30, the other end of which carries a roller 31 engaging a rotary cam 32. In a modification (not shown), the released tin falls on to a turn-over drum which delivers it base downwards on the conveyer 9 and means is provided for stopping the apparatus if a loaf remains in the tin.
