Abstract

651,278. Building units; walls. STUART, D. G., and GREENGROVE, G. F. April 1, 1949, No. 5004/48. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A hollow reinforced concrete building slab of storey height comprises a continuous face 4 provided with marginal and intermediate ribs 1 forming recesses which are closed by panels 3 having inclined edges 3a. Vertical reinforcing rods 1 or dowels project from the upper and lower faces to engage with a roof or floor. Hooks 2a on horizontal reinforcements project at the side edges into grooves which receive bonding material X, Fig. 8, the hooks being engaged by vertical rods 10. At corners and wall junctions, the edge of the slab is formed as in Fig. 2, and the corner completed by a separate corner piece 12 held in place by a wire strainer 13, and the wall junction by the end of the branch wall. Roofing felt 11 is provided at the junctions between slabs.
