[Class 114] In a propelling plant having two or more gas turbines 1, 2 driving the propeller shaft 8 through reduction gearing, astern running and maneouvring is obtained by disconnecting the turbine through clutches 3, 4, turbine 2 being used to drive the electric generator 11. The current from this drives the electric motor 10.
