Abstract

648,737. Refrigerating ELECTROLUX, Ltd. Oct. 30, 1946, No. 2581/49. Convention date, Nov. 8, 1945. Divided out of 648,673. [Class 29] The subject-matter described is the same as that shown in Fig. 2 of Specification 648,673 but the claims are directed to a continuous cycle inert gas absorption refrigerating system having a plurality of evaporator elements operating at different temperatures and conduits leading gas mixtures enriched in different evaporator elements through different gas passages into different parts of the absorber system. Gas mixture from the low temperature evaporator 17 flows by way of conduits 30, 38, heat exchanger 19 and conduit 21 to the absorber coil 18 which it enters with a partial pressure of ammonia of 1.5 atmospheres. Gas mixture from. the high temperature evaporator 32 flows by way of conduit 50 in thermal contact with the exchanger 19 and conduit 51 to the absorber vessel 22 having been joined with gas mixtures flowing from the pre-cooler 13 through a conduit 41 byepassing the exchanger 10. This gas enters the vessel 22 with a partial pressure of ammonia of 6 atmospheres which is reduced in the absorber vessel 22 to 1.5 atmospheres before it unites with the gas entering the absorber coil 18 by the conduit 21.
