Abstract

647,451. Gas turbines. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Nov. 2, 1948, No. 28423. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1947. [Class 110(iii)] Stator blades 26, 27 of a gas turbine are supported by a two-piece tubular member 47, 49 bolted to a flange 38. The flange is welded to a conical piece 31 itself welded to the casing 10. The tubular part 47 is flanged at 48 to receive the outer shroud ring 41 of the blades 26. The tubular part 49 is welded to an upstanding ring 50 on the outer shroud ring 45 of the blades 27. The shroud ring 45 extends over the tips of the running blades 22, 23. The parts 47, 41 and 49, 45 are spaced apart over most of their length. The inner shroud ring 40 is secured to a main-shaft bearing support 60.
