Abstract
644,204. Frequency measurements. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Aug. 30, 1946, No. 26210. Convention date, June 8, 1943. [Class 37] [Also in Group XL (c)] A frequency selective amplifier has a feedback network comprising a bridge circuit which produces positive feedback between the output and input of the amplifier at the frequency to be amplified and negative feedback at all other frequencies. Fig. 13 shows the use of such a frequency selective amplifier in a harmonic analyser. The signal to be analysed is mixed with oscillator O1 in a mixer stage M1, filtered in a resonant filter MF1 of conventional type, Fig. 14 (not shown), mixed with oscillator 02 in a second mixer M2 and the resultant applied to a frequency selective amplifier MF2. Fig. 15 shows a modification in which two crystalcontrolled oscillators Q, Q<SP>1</SP> of fixed frequency difference feed separate mixer stages M, M' to both of which a variable frequency oscillator O is applied. The outputs of the two mixers are connected to two further mixers M1, M2, to each of which the wave to be analysed is applied and the resulting signals fed to frequency selective amplifiers MF1, MF2. The indicator may respond only when the two output frequencies are present simultaneously, Figs. 16, 17 (not shown). Specification 529,595, [Group XL], is referred to.
