642,290. Electric heating. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 26, 1948, No. 22540. Convention date, Sept. 2, 1947. [Class 39(iii)] An electric kettle or similar liquid heater 1 contains an electric immersion heating element 3 adapted to be removed therefrom and seated upon an exterior part of the kettle to serve as a hot-plate. To use the element 3 as a hot-plate the lid 2, which has an inner reflector, is inverted and placed over the hole in the top of the kettle. The element 3 is likewise inverted and rests on the lid 2 on three projections 9 on the inside of the lid.
