Abstract

640,797. Envelopes. BAILEY, J. ASBURY-, and PEARMAN, F. L. Aug. 27, 1948, No. 22620. [Class 146 (ii)] A window envelope of the type having a primary flap 14 which tucks in or may be gummed down and is fast with the window sheet 11, and preferably having the window 12 covered by a transparent sheet 13, is provided with a secondary flap 17 fast with the sheet 16 and which screens the window when used for sealing. The flap is narrowly gummed at 18 to adhere to the window sheet below the window opening. The crease 19 of the secondary flap 17 is above the main edge 15 to facilitate opening, but the portion between the lines 15 and 19 is folded over when the envelope is sealed by gumming down in the primary flap 14. The length of the secondary flap 17 may be less than the length of the opening of the envelope.
