[Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A slidable member is guided by a thin flexible disc having a central opening by which it is secured to the slidable member, and a peripheral edge-part 27d, Fig. 2, connected to the central part by a series of arcuate or spiral parts 27b. The peripheral edge-part slides in an envelope or housing in which the slidable member works, and should, during movement, the edge-part 27d encounter an obstruction, the guide disc flexes sufficiently to enable the slidable member to continue its movement. In a modification, the guide has radial fingers 89, Fig. 3, whose inner ends are attached to the slidable member. The peripheral edge-part 27d or 88 may have an upturned flange. The guide is applicable to the bellows-actuated control valve described in Specification 640,151. Specifications 556,304 and 621,053 also are referred to.
