[Class 17 (ii)] A foot-arch support for application to, or incorporation in, the outer sole of footwear extends forwards from the heel breast to beyond the transverse arch and has a transverse rib K on its underside to lie beneath and support such arch when the footwear is in use. An extension M on the inner side may support the longitudinal arch of the foot. Where the support is applied to the outer sole, it is secured by rivets or screws and the transverse rib, which is formed by a strip of metal, rubber, leather or other wear resisting material, is secured in a removable manner in a shallow groove in the support.
