[Class 78 (iv)] A rig having a base frame 15 and a rear apron 18 against which a container 60 bears is mounted on a vehicle chassis frame 10. Hinge plates on the base carry hollow stub shafts 20 for pivotally mounting a framework comprising side frames 23 having an upper telescopic section. A transverse member 26 has projecting pins 27 and a transverse member 24 supports a hydraulic cylinder 30 the piston of which is attached to the member 26. Fluid is supplied by a pipe 32 through the hollow shaft 20. Each frame 23 has a projecting hook 35 and supports a pin 36 carrying a pair of links 37 pivotally connected to two pairs of links 40, 49. The links 40 are pivotally connected to a pair of links pivotally mounted at 43 on lugs on the frame. Similarly the links 49 are mounted on the frame. Between the links a sleeve carries a double acting piston 45 of a cylinder 46 pivoted at 47 to lugs on the frame. The container 60 has a hopper extension 61 and extensible legs 65 and a vertical frame member 67 with pins 70 co-operating with the hooks 35 and hooks 69 to co-operate with the pins 27. In operation, the container is aligned with the rear of the vehicle, the cylinder 30 is operated to engage the pin 27 with the hook 69 and then to further raise the skid to engage the pin 70 with the hook 35. The container is tipped by operating the cylinder 46. In a modified form, jacks may be mounted on the rear of the vehicle to prevent tilting of the chassis and may be used instead of the cylinder 30 to raise the skid to engage the container.
