636,930. Boxes. BELSINGER, Inc. Nov. 29, 1947, No. 31637. Convention date, June 17. [Class 18] A box or like container comprises two inner members C, D placed end to end and closed by two outer members A, B telescopically engaging the inner members and abutting at a line spaced from the abutting ends of the inner members. The inner members are identical and each is erected from a blank of material to form a tube one end of which is subsequently closed by folding and stitching flaps 16c-19c (Fig. 4 not shown). The outer members are of unequal height but such that their total height when 'placed in abutment substantially equals that of the height of the inner members when placed end to end. The outer members may be formed from blanks similar to those from which the inner members are formed or they may comprise tubular body portions 10 folded up from blanks and end closures formed from a sheet of material 30 from which side flaps 34 are upturned and secured to the sides of the tubular body portion. Ventilation slots 45 may be provided in the inner members which slots are in alignment with similar slots in the outer members when the container is closed. The two outer members may be adhesively secured together about their line of abutment.
