Abstract

636,166. Endless-belt conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd., and ORWIN, O. J. B. June 3, 1946, No. 29168/48. Divided out of 636,111. [Class 78 (i)] A unit for connecting in a row two endless belt conveyers such as those described in Specification 586,343, comprises pulleys 93 supported in a sheet metal frame and supporting the belts 13, 13a, one pulley being driven from the other. The spindles 92 of the pulleys are supported in longitudinal slots 91 in supporting plates 90 and are spaced by connecting strips 94. Each pulley 93 carries a sprocket wheel 96, a chain 97 connecting the sprocket wheels for rotation together. The slots 91 supporting the spindles 92 are long enough to permit both belts to be tensioned by a single tensioning device at one end. The unit has a cover 98 and is detachably connected to adjacent belt housing units 10 by flanges 18 on the latter which engage the supports 89.
