635,896. Walls casting walls in situ. BLAKE, J. P. Aug. 2, 1946, No. 23145. [Classes 20 (ii) and 20 (iv)] In walls constructed by casting concrete between facing slabs which form permanent moulds, the slabs are provided with interfitting rebated edges and are held the correct distance apart, whilst the concrete is being cast, by a wooden or metal spacer formed with rebated notches to engage with the top edges of the slabs. After casting, the spacer is removed and used subsequently for successive slabs as these are added. In the form shown, a notched wooden spacer C is first placed over the lowest row of slabs A<SP>1</SP> and A<SP>2</SP> and plain concrete is poured between them to a level D<SP>1</SP>. After this has set the spacer i s removed, another row of slabs A3 and A4 is laid, either dry or in mortar, on the first, so that the rebated edges interfit, and the spacer is used and concrete poured as before. Rows of slabs are added successively to complete the wall, which may then be rendered externally or pointed, when the slabs have a prepared external surface, the inside of the wall being plastered.
