Abstract

635,862. Combined seat and step ladder. PERRY, Ltd., T. & G., and MANLEY, S. Oct. 29, 1947, No. 28844. [Class 20 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] A combined seat and steps comprises two side members 1 connected by transverse members 2-5 forming steps and a strut A pivoted at 8 supports the seat 6, hinged to the step 2, when the device is used as a seat. For use as steps the device is inverted, the strut A folded and a strut B swung out on a pivot and held in open position by lateral projections on the outer edge of the seat 6. The steps 4, 5 are formed in two parts one of each of which is fixed to the side members 1 and the other to the strut A. A cross member 13 on the strut B forms a seat back with a part 3a of the step 3 which hinges down.
