[Class 136 (i)] In a crash guard for a motor cycle of the kind comprising a rigid buffer element provided with attachment means for' mounting it on a frame member so that it extends transversely of the frame to protect the rider in the event of an accident, the buffer element is formed of a metal tube 10 pivotally connected to the attachment means 15 so that the buffer may be adjusted about a horizontal axis extending transversely of the frame means being provided for releasably securing the buffer element in the angularly adjusted position. As shown, the buffer element consists of a tubular metal frame 10 comprising a pair of vertically spaced parallel tubes 11 joined integrally at their ends and connected at their medial portions by transversely spaced parallel stiffening members 12 of flat section. A pivot screw 13 passes through a central hole in each member 12 and connects it for pivotal movement about a transverse horizontal axis to the extremity of one of a pair of arms 14 forming part of a strip metal channel shaped member 15 constituting together with a clip 18 the attachment means for securing the buffer at any desired height on the front member 16 of the motor cycle frame. The pivot screws 13 are provided with releasable nuts 20 for securing the buffer element in an angularly adjusted position. Each of the arms 14 of the member 15 is provided with a plurality of spaced holes 21 for a screw 13 so that the longitudinal position of the buffer relative to the attachment means may be varied.
