Abstract

634,619. Spray-producers. SWAFFIELD, G. E. (Phillips, A. M.). March 2, 1948, No. 6590. [Class 69 (iii)] A number of atomizer heads C arranged in line to spray paper webs &c. are fed with liquid and air under pressure from passages A<SP>2</SP> and A<SP>1</SP> respectively, in a single pipe unit A. Each atomizer head is secured to a flat surface B of the pipe by a bolt E, and has annular grooves D<SP>1</SP> and D<SP>2</SP> fed with air and liquid respectively from the pipe unit. Passages D<SP>3</SP> and D<SP>4</SP> extend to a nozzle opening C<SP>1</SP>, the liquid passage D<SP>4</SP> being controlled by a needle valve F. The pipe unit may comprise short separate lengths joined together, and may carry two rows of atomizer heads. Specifications 415,064, 428,975 and 431,932 are referred to.
