Abstract

634,464. Gyratory crushers. NORDBERG MANUFACTURING CO. Nov. 10, 1947, No. 29883. Convention date, Aug. 4. [Class 59] In a gyratory crusher comprising a head 25, provided with a mantle 45, and a concave ring 12, the crushing cavity defined by the latter members comprises a lower portion bounded b y substantially parallel conical surfaces and a much wider upper feedcontrolling portion separated from the lower portion by an abrupt step formed at least partly by a shoulder on the mantle extending substantially perpendicularly to the surface of its lower portion. As shown in Fig. 1, the mantle is formed with a thickened rim portion 45c, a recess or shoulder 45b, a conical portion 45a substantially parallel to the co-operating surface 12a of the ring and a bevelled portion 45d; and the ring is formed with a flared portion 12b connecting the substantially parallel surfaces of the portions 12a and 12c. In a modification, Fig. 2, the mantle and ring are formed with two recesses 145b and 145d and flared portions 112b and 112d respectively.
