633,515. Road-vehicle spring-suspensions; shock-absorbers. ADAMSON, S. B. Aug. 11, 1947, No. 22211. [Classes 108 (ii) and 108 (iii)] A vehicle shock-absorber comprises a boxshaped housing 1 secured to the chassis and having an open side to which a cover 8 (Figs. 2, 6, not shown), is secured by studs 7 and associated nuts. Springs 4a-4d are loaded by means of a member 2 which is journalled in the cover 8 and the opposing face of the housing 1. The member 2 is actuated by a crank-arm (Figs. 2, 6) which is connected to the axle by a link 15, Fig. 7. A resiliently-mounted bolt 21 is carried by a member 16 pivotally secured to the lower end of the link 15. The bolt 21 is secured by a nut 21<SP>1</SP> to one of a series of alternative holes 18<SP>1</SP> in a member 18 rigid with the axle.
