Abstract

632,461. Boxes or Trays. TIPSY AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd., and GASKIN, L. A. Oct.. 31, 1947, No. 29098. [Class 18] Two longer sides 10 of a four-sided knock-down metal tray are provided with pockets to receive the ends of bottomforming slats 16. As shown, the sides 10 have inturned ledges 14 to which joggled metal strips 15 are secured by spotwelding, the crest 15a of these strips forming, with the ledges 14, pockets into which slats 16 forming the tray bottom are fitted. The shorter sides 11, provided with narrower bottom ledges 13, have lugs 17 at each end by means of which these sides are bolted to the longer sides to hold the tray in the set-up position. An inturned lip 12 is provided along the top edge of each side. The sides of the tray may be strengthened by ribs or corrugations.
