Abstract
631,550. Saws. SANDVIKENS JERNVERKS AKTIEBOLAG. Oct. 20, 1947, No. 27979. Convention date, Oct. 23, 1946. [Class 145 (ii)] In a method of producing sawteeth, after stamping out the teeth are set and each toothat least in the part adjacent its point-is bent to the shape of a flat groove extending longitudinally of the tooth and with concave face outermost (see Fig. 4), that part of the tooth which lies outside a surface 5 substantially parallel with the plane of the saw blade and intersecting the convex inner face 4 of the teeth being then removed by grinding. The setting and grooving of the teeth, or the stamping, setting and grooving, may be performed in a single operation. An additional bending extending outwards and longitudinally of the teeth may be given the teeth when setting. In Fig. 2 is shown a tooth 1,. set, grooved and longitudinally bent, and a similarly treated tooth 2 after grinding along a plane 5, which plane is preferably slightly outwardly inclined in the direction of set, and intersects the inner convex face 4 of the teeth.
