631,539. Communication platforms between railway vehicles. GOODRICH CO., B. F. Sept. 10, 1947, No. 24844. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1946. [Class 103 (iv)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A stretchable member particularly adapted for use in enclosing the communication platform between two articulated rail coaches comprises a sheet-like elastic member 16 to which a semi-elastic backing member 17 is secured at spaced apart positions longitudinally of the direction of stretch of the member 16, preferably in the form of corrugations as shown. The spaces 21 enclosed by the members 16 and 17 are filled with sponge rubber or various forms of hollow rubber sections. When applied to rail coaches each end of the member is provided with an attachment angle 13 or other suitable connection and intermediate its ends the member is divided by a slide fastener fitted with inter-engaging sealing members of the type disclosed in Specification 607,586, [Group XXV].
