631,389. Feeding pulverulent fuel. BLAWKNOX CO. Dec. 13, 1946, No. 36831. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1945. [Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group II] Pulverized coal from a pulverizer 10 flows through a pipe 14 to a separator 15 which separates the coal from the motive fluid, usually superheated steam, the coal and the steam then being fed separately to a furnace. The coal falls into a burner 16 which is supplied with air for combustion by a blower 17 through a pipe 18. The fuel and air are fired into the furnace or other combustion space 19. Steam discharged by the separator 15 flows through a pipe 20 with a small portion of the coal into the combustion space 19. Specification 624,648, [Group XXVIII], is referred to.
