629,832. Heating gases. AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROMS ANGTURBIN. Nov. 3, 1947, No. 29252. Convention date, Nov. 2, 1946. [Class 64(iii)] [Also in Group XXVI] Compressed air for the combustion chambers of a gas turbine plant is heated by the turbine exhaust gases in a heat exchanger, Fig. 6, comprising inlet headers 108a, 110a and exit headers 112a, 114a connected by banks of U-shaped tubes 142 of flattened cross-section with internal and external fins. The exhaust gases flow from the outer space 90 to the inner space 102 and then axially to the discharge.
