Abstract
629,770. Elastic-fluid turbines. NAPIER & SON, Ltd., D., and BARLOW, B. W. Nov. 21, 1947, No. 30935. [Class 110 (iii)] Flanges B<4> on turbine rotor discs B, B' co-act with the inwardly and outwardly directed lips of stationary rings F<1>, F<2> to form a leakage preventing device. The rings F<1>, F<2> which are bolted together at F<5> are supported by tangentially arranged links G. These are pivoted to the rings and to brackets E<1> formed on bridge pieces E each secured to the inner ends of two or more stator blades C. Alternatively the rings could be secured to the stator blades and selected blades supported from the stator by the arrangement of links.
