626,893. Diamond-dressing tools. CORONEL, M. SENIOR-. Nov. 28, 1946, No. 35260. [Class 124] In a diamond-dressing tool the diamond holder has four markings aligned with the octahedral edges of the diamond whereby, when the tool is set up, either opposite pair of these markings is disposed in the plane of rotation of the work-piece so that the latter strikes the hard corner of the diamond along one of these octahedral edges and avoids natural splitting of the diamond. As shown a diamond having a hard corner H is mounted in a holder in such a manner that the octahedral edges E1 and E3 are aligned with markings M1 and M3 and the mounting set in the machine so that the markings M1 and M3 are in the plane of rotation of the work-piece W. In a similar manner edges E2 and E4 (not shown) are aligned with markings M2 and M4 (not shown).
