[Class 78 (i)] A loader or cutter-loader discharges onto an auxiliary conveyer supported at one end on a movable support having driving means including a slipping clutch device to move the support, with means to vary the effective length of the conveyer in accordance with the movement of the support, and of the loader, the auxiliary conveyer loading onto a guided articulated conveyer which discharges onto a gate conveyer along and above which the discharge end of the articulated conveyer travels. The cutter loader 14 working on the face 13 discharges onto an extensible auxiliary conveyer 1 having one end mounted on a movable support 2 which is moved by a motor 4 driving an articulated conveyer 3, which moves in guides 11, and which discharges onto a gate conveyer 12 which delivers to a loading station. The motor is provided with slipping clutch means whereby the end of conveyer 1 maintains contact with the loader. A hawser 7 is connected at 8 to side plates of the conveyer 1 fixed to the support 2, and passes round a drum 6 connected by the slipping clutch gear to the motor 4. The articulated conveyer is moved step by step as the auxiliary conveyer is extended to its maximum length. The auxiliary conveyer may have loop take-up gear to vary the length of the belt or it may be movable bodily. The articulated conveyer may be held in any desired position by adjustable props 15 and the discharge end may be mounted on a carriage and held by clamps.
