[Classes 79 (iii) and 79 (iv)] A light automobile comprises a chassis of boxlike form having triangular elements extending forwardly and rearwardly of a pair of inclined steering heads, arranged one on each side of the chassis for receiving the forks of steering road wheels. A rear wheel or a pair of wheels driven by an engine is attached to the chassis rigidly or through spring suspension. As shown in Fig. 1 the vehicle comprises a chassis frame built up of tubes having a pair of inclined fork sockets 1 at the front and provided with fork members 33 at the rear end. The front wheels 23, Fig. 2, are mounted in forks 34 such as are used in known motor cycle construction which are interconnected the vehicle being steered by a steering wheel 22. The rear wheel 17 is located in the fork ends 33 and is driven by a power unit 28 located in the rear of the vehicle. The unit may be liquid or air cooled, there being louvres 26, 27, 32 provided therefor. Access to unit is obtained by lifting the cover 30, which is hinged to the chassis tube 13. The front of the vehicle may be used as a luggage boot the cover 18 being hinged for accessibility. The rear wheel may be sprung with springs or by an oleopneumatic system.
