Abstract
622,678. Agricultural implements. SELLER & SON, Ltd., G., and WOOD, G. B. Oct. 16, 1947, No. 30906/46. [Class 6(i)] A tractor-drawn plough is provided with a trailing caster wheel 11 which is movable relatively to the plough-frame from a supporting to a non-supporting position, the wheel being carried on a spindle 13, the upper end of which carries a winged lever 21 the wings of which engage the end faces of a bracket 17 in the non-supporting position to prevent castering of the wheel 11. The plough-frame 10 is provided rearwardly with the bracket 17 on which is pivoted a bracket 15, carrying the cranked axle 13 of the caster wheel 11. The wheel is movable relatively to the frame 10, about a pivot 16, to raise the ploughshare 12 clear of the ground and, in this position, is free to swivel. By the operation of a pivoted lever 18, controlled from the tractor, the plough may be lowered into ground-engagement. In the latter position, the wheel 11 is prevented from swivelling by the engagement between the winged lever 21, carried on the spindle 13, and the rear face 17a of the bracket 17.
