[Class 81(ii)] [Also in Group XXIII] An injection syringe comprising a glass cylinder and a metal mouthpiece has the mouthpiece, at least externally enamelled. As shown, the metal mouthpiece 2 sealec to the glass cylinder 1 is provided with enamel coatings 4, 5 the coating 5 stopping short of the end 3 of the mouthpiece so that an injection needle may be fitted thereto. The glass cylinder after application of the mouthpiece may be calibrated by placing it on a mandrel, heating the cylinder to fusing temperature and pressing the cylinder on to the mandrel, preferably by diminishing the pressure within the cylinder, and removing the mandrel after cooling. Gradations 9 of enamel may be fused in position during the calibration. The piston 6 is preferably provided with a reduced portion 8 to prevent straining the glass cylinder 1.
